30th Annual Rabbi Samuel Chiel Kallah “Journeys of Jewish Discovery: Many Gates to Jewish Life and Learning” Anita Diamant, best-selling author of “The Red Tent” and six books about contemporary Jewish practice, will share her personal journey of Jewish discovery as an adult learner and will lead us in exploring ways to transmit Jewish values from generation to generation, through our personal practices, through the arts, and in the way we raise and mentor children. Saturday, May 3rd, 10:30-11:00 AM: “From the Red Tent to the Mikveh: Why does Mikveh Matter?” —Anita Diamant will speak about Mayyim Hayyim, why it means so much to her, and share some stories about transformative moments there and why Mikveh matters today. Saturday, May 3rd, 1:00-2:00 PM: “The Red Tent”: A conversation with the author on the tenth anniversary of the best-selling novel. Rabbi Gardenswartz will interview Anita about the process and impact of her fictional retelling of Genesis 34 in a woman’s voice. Sunday, May 4th, 9:00-11:00 AM:. “How to Raise a Jewish Child” –Anita Diamant will discuss the joys of Jewish parenting and mentoring with Rabbi Robinson.
