AMERICAN EYEWITNESSES TO WAR POWs and Liberators

Some of the Unite States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s most unusual collections are those donated by American POWs and GIs.

Museum Curator KYRA SCHUSTER will share behind-the-scenes stories about how the Museum acquired these artifacts— which include photographs, personal diaries, and rare film footage taken immediately after liberation and in displaced persons camps—and explain why the Museum is racing against time to rescue this evidence from the eyewitnesses.

SPEAKER KYRA SCHUSTER, Curator, Arts and Artifacts, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum This program is free and open to the public, but registration is required at ushmm.org/events/eyewitnesses.

At Temple Emanuel 385 Ward Street Newton, Massachusetts
