Action for Post-Soviet Jewry (APSJ) presents acclaimed classical and jazz guitarist John Muratore in a benefit concert for Jewish communities in Ukraine served by APSJ’s Adopt-a-Bubbe and Zayde program.
Pd A reception will follow.
Muratore has performed as soloist, chamber musician and concerto soloist throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Russia. He is on the faculty of Boston University and Dartmouth College and he coordinated the guitar program at the All Newton Music School. His CDs will be available at the concert.
The Boston Globe has described him as “a fleet-fingered and musicianly performer” and has characterized his playing as…”unleashing so many different varieties of tone and color in quick succession…a kind of aural iridescence.”
APSJ provides much-needed nourishing food for 1,000 clients in more than a dozen cities in Ukraine. The war in Ukraine resulted in a vastly devalued currency, driving many people into poverty, especially pensioners on fixed incomes.
Tickets are available through Action for Post-Soviet Jewry, actionpsj@aol.com or (781) 893-2331. Donations over $35/person are tax-exempt as allowed by law.
