Contemporary Israeli Music Concert with Nava Tehila

Start Date/Time: Saturday, May 13, 2017 8:00 PM
End Date/Time: Saturday, May 13, 2017 10:30 PM
Category: Concerts/Performances
Description:

Open your heart, lift your voice and move your feet with Nava Tehila, a contemporary Israeli musical ensemble who will perform at Congregation Beth El in Sudbury on Saturday, May 13th.  An off-shoot of the Nava Tehila Congregation in Jerusalem, one of the Jewish world’s most innovative musical prayer communities, Nava Tehila ensemble has gained an international reputation for its uplifting music and original melodies sung at concerts across Israel and around the globe.

The music of Nava Tehila, Hebrew for “beautiful praise,” encourages inspiration, elation and deep inner reflection on the importance of prayer and of sensing the Divine connection everywhere. Rooted in Middle Eastern, Hasidic, Israeli, and other world music traditions, audiences are encouraged to sing along — with the goal of helping the spirit soar.

This special Havdallah Rinah Concert is hosted by Congregation Beth El, a progressive, egalitarian community where people of diverse backgrounds pursue and share the fulfillment and joy of an active Jewish life. Known for being a “singing” congregation, where monthly Shabbat Rinah (Shabbat of Joy) services regularly attract 120-150 vocal participants, Beth El offers a melodious and spiritual prayer experience to all who attend.

The Nava Tehila Havdallah Concert will begin with a short and spirited service at 8 p.m., followed by a full performance of lively and inspiring music. All are welcome. Tickets are free for Beth El members and $18 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Temple office, located at 105 Hudson Road in Sudbury.
