Presented as part of the Pioneer Valley Jewish Film Festival

“The Muses of Isaac Bashevis Singer”

Isaac Bashevis Singer is considered one of the most influential Jewish writers of the 20th century. His stories were both translated and inspired by an army of more than forty female translators, who often had multifaceted relationships with Singer - both professional and romantic. Through archival footage and the intimate in-depth recollections of nine of the women who brought Singer's stories to life, this absorbing documentary sheds light on a previously unknown and eccentric chapter in the unlikely ladies' man and iconic author's life.

“Isaac Singer's Nightmare and Mrs. Pupko's Beard”

Based on one of Singer's stories, this short film was directed by the great American photographer Bruce Davidson and stars Singer himself.
