"From Rabbi to Transgender Activist" Abby Stein, Jewish educator, activist, writer and speaker was born a male and raised in a Hasidic family of Rabbinic descent, the 10th generation of the Baal Shem Tov. Abby attended Yeshiva and completed a Rabbinic degree in 2011. In 2012 she left that world. In 2015 Abby came out as a woman of trans experience. Abby now works to raise support and awareness for trans rights and those leaving Ultra-Orthodoxy. Her story has been covered in a multitude of news media as well as numerous live appearances in this country and internationally. Abby will be speaking at 2Life Communities, Brighton Campus, 30 Wallingford Rd. on Monday, June 17th at 6:30 p.m. Parking is limited but the campus is within walking distance of Comm.
