Mark Binder's first Chelm book, "A Hanukkah Present" was the finalist for the National Jewish Book Award for Family Literature. His most recent release is the unabridged edition of "The Brothers Schlemiel," a novel of Chelm.

11:30am | Exhibit Opening: Felix Lembersky: Soviet Form, Jewish Context
Talk & slide show by Yelena Lembersky: The Art of Felix Lembersky: Insights from his Granddaughter

Jewish artist Felix Lembersky was born in 1913 in Lublin, Poland. He died in Leningrad in 1970. Rooted in the Soviet avant-garde and the Yiddish Kultur-Lige movement, and academically trained in Leningrad, Lembersky melded realist and modernist forms, creating emotionally charged images/metaphors. His most moving works are the portraits of fellow citizens and the spaces they inhabited.
