B’nai Or (Community of Light) of Boston is a Jewish renewal community that is guided and inspired by the many roots and branches of Jewish tradition and spiritual practice. We are a community that uses Hebrew and English in our Davening (Prayer) as a way of expressing our connection to Judaism and our desire to deeply engage in prayer. B’nai Or specializes in celebrating all of life’s great moments including (but not limited to) welcoming babies and children, coming of age, entering Judaism, wedding and commitment, and end of life. We also are also working to create ceremonies for life’s other important moments such as change in career, graduation, diagnosis and recovery from illness, and those that people bring to us along their journey.  An egalitarian community, our membership reflects a diversity of lifestyles, family configurations, and spiritual paths. As Jewish seekers, we draw on prayer, song, movement, meditation, and chants to create an uplifting and vibrant davening community. B’nai Or is a comfortable place to explore your spiritual roots, to find personal meaning in Jewish texts and traditions, and to practice acts of loving kindness in the context of a heart-centered community. All are welcome. Join us at an upcoming Shabbat service, learning event or concert. Please visit our web site to learn more. We welcome all who wish to participate in a meaningful high holy day worship experience. Please join our warm and welcoming community (about 20 minutes from downtown Boston; accessible by public transportation) for Rosh HaShana and/or Yom Kippur as well as our services throughout the year. To download high holy day registration materials and learn more about our community, please visit our web site.
