The stories, images, rituals, and symbols associated with each of the Jewish holidays offer unique mirrors for reflecting upon who we are and seeing new possibilities for who we are becoming. Using meditation and other experiential activities, we will align ourselves with the changes of the seasons and each season’s Holy-Days, to make personal connections with themes associated with each holiday. Come for the whole series, or individual sessions. Dr. Joel Ziff, a psychologist for 35 years in private practice in Watertown, MA, and is also on the faculty at Cambridge College, will teach this 4-session class which will take place over the course of the year. The first of the classes takes place on Sunday, September 20, 9:30am -10:50 am. at Temple Sinai. Dr. Ziff will talk about the Days of Awe – Elul, Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur & Sukkot. This first class will examine questions about how we can be compassionately and rigorously honest about who we are and what we have done? How have our efforts to face challenges been ineffective and self-defeating?
