20th Annual Project Manna Concert, Sunday, May 3, 4:00 pm. Temple Emanuel of Newton and the The Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church of Cambridge will collaborate to present the 20th Annual Project Manna Concert on Sunday, May 3rd at 4:00 pm at Temple Emanuel.

The Concert was founded in 1989 by Rabbi Samuel Chiel and Reverend Howard McLendon, who together had a vision to unite their two communities of faith in a celebration of music to benefit the homeless and hungry. 100% of the proceeds from the concert support Project Manna, the Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church’s hot meals program and food pantry . Project Manna now serves approximately 150 meals a week and in the past year over 200 families received nutritional assistance through the pantry. This joyous annual event celebrates the glorious traditions of Gospel and Jewish music and will include performances by several local choirs.
