Jewish chanting is an expression of musical meditation that transports, elevates, uplifts, enlightens, inspires and centers the spirit. The chants typically use a short excerpt from a Hebrew prayer that is repeated over and over with a melody that fits the style and Kavanah or intention of the prayer. It is tradition and innovator, creative and deep, and ALIVE! Reading music or previous chanting experience is not necessary.
Jewish chanting promotes group connection by creating and sharing a spiritual energy. Co-led by Kerem Shalom members Josef Kottler and Andrea DeSharone. Come prepared to have your spirit uplifted – as we open our hearts and minds in song together.
Sunday afternoons 2:15-3:30 PM, March 7, April 4, May 2, and June 6.
$10 fee per class for non-members.
